Irish descent guitarist, singer and songwriter Pat O’May chose the land of Britany to lay his bags and settle down. From as young as 14 years old, he plays with many local bands before joining the Hard Rock group Marienthal with whom he will have his first professional experiences taking him to the four corners of the world. A few years later, Pat O’May decides to go for a solo career in order to freely let loose his inspiration. Integrating the basics of Rock and Metal with elements borrowed from Celtic, Arabic and even Chinese music, he crafts an original and powerful universe, an invitation to travel. This will be his very own and unique trademark with already over 10 albums and wonderful and stimulating studio or live collaborations under his belt: DeRon, Bumblefoot, Thal (Guns N’ Roses) with whom he recorded one of his albums in New York, or on stage where he multiplies his solo experience with his own musicians or alongside various artists such as Nono (Trust) or Patrick Rondat (Jean Michel Jarre), Alan Parsons. Pat Mc Manus, Ian Paice, Martin Barre (Jethro Tull) …
He played as part of the Rock Opera “Anne de Bretagne” and Celtic Rock Opera “Excalibur” performed in front of over 200’000 people whilst on tour in Germany. Then with his friend Alan Stivell who invited him alongside Dan Ar Braz for his anniversary concert at the Olympia and furthermore at the “Britany night at Bercy” as well as on many more shows and stages.
Interested by soundtracks, Pat O’May penned the music for over 100 episodes of the documentary series “Thalassa”, amongst them the series “Les côtes d’Europe vues du Ciel” which was distributed within more than 50 countries.
Today, Pat O’May wishes to explore new territories, right in tune with is his habit, by writing and composing his first concept album “Welcome to a New World”, a cross over between The Matrix and the Who’s Tommy, which he will be showcasing on stage with his own band raring to go!
